This past weekend Whitehorse returned to the National Arts Centre in Ottawa! My daughter and I last saw Whitehorse at Bluesfest in 2018, but it was 6 years ago that we last saw them at the NAC. What a show this was… during the pandemic Luke Doucet and Melissa McClelland of Whitehorse have been busy, recording 3 albums of new material, so we had a lot of catching up to do in hearing live versions of songs from these albums, but the evening was not limited to new songs and they pulled out some of our favourites from over the years even including Broken and a couple of other songs from their 2011 debut album. Every time I see this band I think I just saw them at their best, and every time I see them again they’re even better! As long as they keep playing, I’ll keep going… “you guys never disappoint”! Thanks again!
Enjoy this slideshow of photos from the show. Neville Quinlan of NQ Arbuckle opened the show and even brought along his support plant!! Whitehorse are Luke Doucet, Melissa McClelland and drummer Johnny Overseen. Luke’s Dad, Roland Doucet, joined them for a few songs, and they wrapped with Luke, Melissa, Neville and Roland playing for the encore of Gordon Lightfoot’s Sundown.
