A bonus Record Club Night last night #102 at The Wellington Gastropub listening to the first two albums by another band I was not too familiar with The Wonder Stuff. And it was… wonderful! I decided to take a few photos this time to give you a better sense as to what Record Club is all about. Sure we sit down and listen to records but it’s more than that. When we arrive we have time to chat with fellow listeners, and sample some incredible food from Shane’s restaurant and a couple of drinks, be it a craft beer, or as in my case a craft cider. The “White Room” is very comfortable with a long table so you can chat comfortably while eating, but when the needle drops – the lights go down and there’s no talking, so we can all enjoy every minute of the music coming out of my friend Adrian’s Tetra Listening Instruments-Speakers. And a lesson we have all learned, which came up last night, is going home to try and recreate the listening experience with the very same album is impossible if you don’t have Tetra Speakers! Let Shane know at The Wellington Gastropub if you’d like to be put on the monthly mailing list, which includes the Bowie Tribute every year in January, it’s always a wonderful time!
If you wonder what it is that keeps me going to Record Club, there’s a lot of reasons, the music, the sound, the sharing of great music with fellow music lovers, and food… it’s a big part, and as my Mum always liked to quote from Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night “If music be the food of love, play on” and if there’s food too all the better! For Record Club we always start with three different canopés and every time I feel that this was the best yet! Of these three, the Shrimp was new, and OMG, this WAS the best yet… so far!!!

… when the table is cleared and the drinks poured, the lights go down and the reason for this gathering of music lovers begins… play on!

… even the decor adds to the atmosphere… over Tetra Listening Instruments-Speakers you hEar every small and big sound coming at you including some you never noticed on previous listens! It truly is magical!
